The 2020 NYSMATA Lower Hudson Region Media Arts Show will take place Tuesday, March 10 at Westchester Community College in the Classroom Building 200.
Doors will open at 8:15 AM for exhibit set-up. The program will start at 9 AM and conclude at 1:30 PM.
The Media Arts Show is a unique opportunity for students to exhibit/screen their work and to see what their peers are producing. The show also allows Media Arts Teachers to network and collaborate on the judging of Exemplary Award entries.
Students who attend school in the Lower Hudson Region of NYS are invited to exhibit their work at this show. Photography, Digital Images, Film, Video, Animation, Creative Sound, Graphic Arts are eligible media.
EXEMPLARY MEDIA ARTS AWARDS
Students may enter their work prior to the show to be evaluated for an Exemplary Award. Work that is accepted for an award will be included in the opening video for the show and students will receive a commemorative award acknowledging their achievement. To earn an "Exemplary Media Art Award," a student's work must show noteworthy content, a creative approach, attention to composition and a command of craft.

There will be an entry fee schedule as follows:
1-9 Students 5.00 per student
10 students - 50.00
11-20 students 100.00
21-30 students 150.00
31-40+ students 200.00
If you have multiple students submitting a film, please count each person involved in the production.
Videos, films and animations are limited to 5 minutes. Each student must be listed as a collaborator on the entry form.
We will be accepting Exemplary Submissions electronically this year:
For VIDEO, ANIMATION, FILM and SOUND entries we will be using Film Freeway to upload all entries and Google Docs to collect Entry Forms.
For 2D Art -PHOTOGRAPHY, COMPUTER ART, GRAPHICS entries we will be using Google Drive to collect submissions and Google Docs to collect Entry Forms.
Fill out the forms online BEFORE you SUBMIT electronically. The information that you enter will automatically be recorded on a response sheet from which we can generate our inventory. We encourage you to record your own personal inventory to keep track of your entries. This will also assist in your own record keeping and if you are attending the show please email a spreadsheet with the names of your students and chaperones that will attend the show. Bring your updated spreadsheet to the registration table at the show on March 10.

Entries and fees for the annual Exemplary Media Arts Award must be:
a) postmarked by February 7 / includes Submission form.
b) videos must be uploaded to our YouTube channel by February 7 / forms must be submitted via Google Docs and Submission form must be mailed with entry fees (postmarked by February 7)
c) alternately, fees may be hand delivered to the Library at WCC by February 7 if you plan on participating in the adjudication.
Judging will take place February 10, 2020.

- clarity of vision / personal or social statement and content appropriate for a high school audience
- creativity, inventiveness, originality
- design, image composition
- craftsmanship, technique as fitting the media e.g. clear sound, lighting, shots, etc.
